Romasha Muni and Brahma Devar – Once Lord Brahma criticized Uromasha Muni, the Mahirishi with full of hair on his body that Mahirishi’s hairs are as equal as Brahma’s age. Insulted Mahirishi underwent a penance and got darshan of the Almighty here. He got blessed by Him that if the maharishi loose one hair Lord Brahma Devar loose one year in His age. Overjoyed Uroma Mahirishi begged and blessed with His Thrivikrama Posture. Perumal is seen wearing Salgrama Garland. Utsava Murthy Thavittu Panai Thadalan can be worshipped only on Vaikunda Ekadasi Day. Once Thirumangai Azhwar and the great Saivite Saint "Thirugnana Sambandar" had a debate and finally Thirumangai won and was praised by Sambandhar as Nalkavi Perumal - Asu Kavi, Chitra Kavi, Madhra Kavi and Vistara Kavi. Gnana Sambandhar gifted Thirumangai a Vel and Thandai for the victory.
Thavittu Paanai Thadalan
Thavittu Paanai Thadalan - Utsava Murthy is also being worshipped by the name of Thavittu Panai Thadalan. Thal means Feet. Aalan means the ruler. Since the Almighty ruled the entire world by His feet He is worshipped as Thalalan. Utsavar Thayar is Mattavil Kuzhali Thayar. As Utsavar Thayar is hiding the face of Moolavar Thayar, SHE can be worshipped fully only on Uthiram Star every month, when Utsava Thayar is taken out for procession. Once when this place was dilapidated and the temple was without any proper maintenance , Utsava Perumal was taken away by an old woman and she kept the idol in the bran of husk for so many years with the daily worship. Finally she handed over the Perumal to Thirumangai Azhwar as she was instructed to do so by the Almighty in her divine dream on the previous night. Utsavar once was taken by the Nawabs and handed over as a toy to the princess child. She was keeping the Perumal as a toy very affectionately. By that time one of an aderent devotee named Chidambaram Padayachi of Seerkazhi went to Nawab's place and requested the Utsavar to come along with him. Utsava Murthy obeyed his request and came along with him to Thirukavalambadi.
Kazhiseerama Vinnagaram - The Temples for Re-Union and Progeny
Devotees can worship the Almighty in His Thrivikra Posture in Four Divyadesams. Here at Thirukazheeseerama Vinnagarm, Thiru Ooragam and Thiruneermalai with His Left Leg Raised where as in Thirukovilur with His Right Leg Raised. Usually the Almighty will be having Goddess in His chest, but here in Thirukavalambadi the Goddess holds the Almighty in Her chest. This Divyadesams is blessing the separated couple for their re-union and also blessing with children for couple who pray for Santhana Bagyam - Progeny. Once when Sage Viswamithra wanted to perform a Yagna where the Emperoro Mahabali did. When he conducted the yagna he brought Sreerama and Lskhamana here to safeguard the yagana. Since Sreerama sannidhi is also resent here. Hence the temple was worshipped as "Sreerama Vinnagaram" and now as Cheerama Vinnagaram. Sree Manavala Mamunigal prasied his mangalasasanam here twice in his life time. Both the Moolavar and Utsavar are Blessing with a Splendid Smile, they are also being worshipped as "Punsirippu Raman". Punsirippu menas a Slight Smil in Tamil. |
